A stewardess is looking to claim compensation following an accident at work in which she alleges a metal canister fell on her head.
The woman, who worked for British Airways, claims to have suffered “serious neurological consequences” after the metal canister hit her head while on duty. She states that this has left her unable to work.
According to reports from the Evening Standard, the accident occurred while the plane was delayed at Heathrow Airport. The claimant went to the rear galley to fetch water, but she first had to move a canister of ice to reach it. During this process, the door opened and ice fell to the floor. As she bent to pick it up, the door opened again and the heavy canister fell out and hit her head.
The 41-year-old is now seeking between £100,000 and £300,000 in accident compensation from British Airways.
The paper printed a statement from her lawyers, which read, “She sustained a blow to her head resulting in pain in the back of her head, swelling and left her feeling dazed and groggy.
“Unfortunately the claimant suffered serious neurological consequences of the blow to her head and has been unable to return to work," added the statement.
