A talented dressage rider is making a substantial accident compensation claim after he was involved in a head-on crash.
The 23-year-old is claiming compensation of a minimum of £300,000 from the driver of the car in which he was a passenger, alleging that the man behind the wheel lost control, failed to slow down, drove too fast and caused the collision with an oncoming vehicle.
Following the incident, which occurred in early 2009, the driver was convicted of driving without due care and attention. But due to the fact that the dressage star suffered a shattered right thigh and knee and serious injuries to his left thigh, he is seeking personal compensation.
His medical prognosis at the moment is “uncertain” according to the Telegraph, but he claimed that the accident has ruined his prospects for a career as a trainer in equestrian events due to the fact that one leg is now shorter than the other, he has scarring, will require further surgery and h as an altered gait.
The injury lawyers stated in a writ: “He has lost the opportunity to bring on horses, breed horses and run a specialist dressage business. All were dependent on his status as a top dressage rider. It is unlikely that the claimant will be able to return to riding at that level.”
