A 22-year-old woman has been awarded a £3 million accident compensation payout several years after she was left brain-damaged.
The woman was just 14 when a taxi hit her in Guisborough Park, Teeside, leaving her with life-changing injuries.
Now, after fighting for seven years, it appears that the woman has finally been awarded the accident compensation due. Judge Justice Spender approved of the compensation package at London's High Court after praising her parents for helping their daughter deal with her disabilities.
The money will go towards the extra care that she will most likely require for the rest of her life to help her to overcome her disabilities and live as full a life as possible under the circumstances.
The injury lawyer representing the family commented, “We are very pleased to have reached this settlement that will help to provide for a young woman with profound disabilities and extensive care needs.
“Nothing can replace what has been taken away from Vicki, but we hope this settlement will allow her family to provide for her for the rest of her life, and will enable her to live as comfortably as possible.”
