The victim of a car accident is to make a claim for £300,000 in accident compensation, it has been revealed.
According to reports from the Evening Gazette, the 27-year-old man was left paralysed from the neck down after the vehicle he was travelling in hit an embankment. The car rolled over several times before coming to rest on the roof.
The driver of the car has admitted driving without due care and attention and received six penalty points on her licence, along with a £150 fine. However, the crash victim is seeking accident compensation in the region of £300,000, along with the right to return to court to claim more should his condition worsen.
At the moment his life expectancy has been reduced and his employment prospects are now severely limited. But there is a chance that things could become worse yet, as the man is at risk of developing a cyst on his spine. He is also suffering from severe pain and spasms and has lost normal control of his bladder and bowels and sexual function, according to a writ issued by the victim’s solicitor.
